Black Trumpet Bistro Tapas & Wine Bar has opened on Yorktown Avenue in Huntington Beach. The restaurant is much, much larger than at its previous Beach Boulevard spot.

The decor is jazz inspired, with a photo wall of famous jazz performers and colorful artwork, and there’s even a black trumpet mounted on the wall.

My friend Olivia and I sat outside on a comfy couch while we listened for our names to be called. On this evening, there was about a half-hour wait for dinner.

The food is French, Spanish, Greek and Moroccan inspired, with a variety of tapas, French onion soup, ravioli, steak, shrimp, and more. We ordered Truffle Fries, Lamb Lollipops with mint pesto and couscous, and two Filet Mignon Skewers that came with rice, vegetables and tabouleh. Every dish was delicious.

We had some wonderful wine, but we were too full for the Lavender Creme Brulee dessert. Will definitely return soon.

Black Trumpet Bistro Tapas & Wine Bar is at 7041 Yorktown Ave., Suite 104, near Goldenwest Street. Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 4 to 10 p.m.Saturday; 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday; closed Monday. Information: theblacktrumpetbistro.com or 714-842-1122.
