The Fountain Valley Rotary Club will present its annual Ed Arnold Volunteer of the Year Service Award to Alex Accetta of Alex Accetta CPA & Associates Inc., at a gala banquet Saturday, Oct. 13 at Mile Square Golf Course.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and is open to the public.
Accetta will be honored for his many years of volunteerism in the community. He is a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Huntington Valley as well as chairman of the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He is also a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club of Fountain Valley.
I know Alex very well. In the interest of disclosure, he happens to be co-owner of Fountain Valley Living Magazine, which my wife, Lynn, and I have been publishing for the past 10 years. And, of course, Alex does our taxes every year.
The Ed Arnold Volunteer of the Year Award is named after longtime resident and former sportscaster Ed Arnold – who was the award recipient at the inaugural event.
Additionally during the evening, the Rotary Club will honor the club’s 2018 Youth Volunteer Scholarship winners. Those students are Kayla Borack, Parker Johnson and Morgan Raffiani.
Ed will be on hand to present the scholarships.
There will also be a silent auction and opportunity drawing. Auction items include trips to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, custom jewelry, a four-course gourmet dinner cooked in your home by Rotary Club member chef Marla McGee, Disney memorabilia, dinner and theater tickets, wine, and many other items.
Tickets are $75 each and still available. Proceeds go to the Fountain Valley Rotary Charitable Association, a 501(c)3 entity.
Mile Square Golf Course Banquet Center is at 10401 Warner Ave. For more information, contact Marla McGee at 714-394-5856 or email Marlam@socal.rr.com.
