Eight young women will vie for the crown at the Miss Fountain Valley 2019 Scholarship Competition, set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Saigon Performing Arts Center.
The theme for this year is the Roaring ’20s, and the contestants will perform the opening number dance to “The Charleston.”
New this year is a Princess Program, a non-competitive program designed to promote fun, confidence and new friendships. The princesses, ages 5 to 12, will be performing a dance to “Honey Bun” from “South Pacific.”
The Miss Fountain Valley contestants will compete for $10,000 in scholarships and other prizes, and the winner will advance to the 2019 Miss California competition, a preliminary to Miss America. The contestants have been busy with rehearsals, interview preparation and a photo shoot.
They will compete in five areas: lifestyle and fitness (swimsuit competition), evening wear, on-stage question, talent and personal interview.
