Closing up shop
A note on the window of Rita’s Italian Ice, at 16817 Algonquin St., says the lease is up, and the owners have decided to close. Rita’s thanked everyone for their support at the Huntington Harbour location.
Rita’s Italian Ice opened in October 2013. I always enjoyed their custards and ice creations.
Free health fair
This is definitely an event to consider. Huntington Beach Hospital is having a free health fair on Saturday, Nov. 3. They’ll have free flu shots, screenings, blood pressure checks, glucose checks, and more.
Learn about fall prevention, see what your BMI (body mass index) is, and get a CPR tutorial. Need nutritional counseling? Just ask. The event will be held under a large tent in the hospital parking lot.
Huntington Beach Hospital is at 17772 Beach Blvd. near Slater Avenue. Hours: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Information: hbhospital.org or 714-741-3357.
