FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Some surgeries were rescheduled this week because of an “unanticipated equipment issue,” a spokesperson for the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital said Thursday, April 25.
“Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center takes patient safety very seriously,” a statement issued by the hospital said. “Due to an unanticipated equipment issue, the hospital has temporarily rescheduled some surgeries Wednesday (April 24) and Thursday (April 25).”
The hospital did not go into further detail about what equipment caused the problem.
The statement also said the hospital’s operating room was not shut down but “just operating at a reduced capacity” and was running at full capacity as of Friday, April 26.
State health officials said they are investigating the matter and that “any pending or ongoing investigation are confidential until the investigation is complete.”
