Crossroads Trading Company is now open in Huntington Beach. At first glance, I thought this was a store filled with new clothing, shoes, and accessories. Turns out, it’s a store to buy and sell gently used clothing.
The store is beautifully organized. I picked up a size 10 new pair of Vans tennis shoes with a Hawaiian print for under $20 that my nephew will love. There were several customers consigning Coach purses and Michael Kors wallets. I will definitely be back.
Crossroads Trading Company is at 19031 Beach Blvd. near Garfield Avenue. Hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 11 a..m.-7 p.m. Sunday. Information: 714-375-4051.
Boudin SF
I’m always in the mood for soup and a sandwich with this weather. My go-to place is Boudin SF. Here I can get a hearty portion of soup in a sourdough bread bowl, and walk out full.
The last time I visited, the Rustic Tomato Soup caught my eye. Service was quick and friendly. The soup? Filling and delicious. Picked up a loaf of sourdough bread on the way out.
Boudin SF is in Huntington Beach at 18541 Beach Blvd. near Eliis Avenue. Hours: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Information: boudinbakery.com or 714-845-5515.

What better place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than at Silky Sullivan’s in Fountain Valley. There will be two tents to accommodate the crowds — you’re almost sure to see friends and neighbors.
Green beer, Guinness, corned beef and cabbage, dancing … reveling. What could be better?
