Seven months after opening its first Fountain Valley location, which also happened to be the Oregon-based drive-through coffee chain’s inaugural Orange County locale, Dutch Bros will open a second Fountain Valley space on Friday, Sept. 6.

Fountain Valley councilmember Kim Constantine confirmed the opening date. “We’re super excited and it looks great,” she said.

The city’s second Dutch Bros can be found just off the 405 Freeway at 9067 Warner Ave. in the Floor and Decor parking lot, located two blocks from first location. Similar to other locations, the new space will feature drive-through and walk-up windows.

Founded in 1992 by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma in Grants Pass, Ore., Dutch Bros is noted not only for its customizable espresso drinks, teas, smoothies but also its chummy customer service.

Regarded as a cult-favorite coffee shop, Dutch Bros, which eschews the minimalist approach of third-wave coffee, offers an expansive menu with bombastic beverages like Cookie Dough Cold Brew, Tropical Frosted Lemonade and the aptly named 9-1-1 (a concoction that comes equipped with six shots of espresso).

When the company opened its first Orange County location in February, hundreds of coffee fans arrived pre-dawn to wait in line to get their hands on Dutch Bros brews.

Dutch Bros plans on opening spots in Laguna Hills and La Habra either later this year or early 2025.
