It’s unlikely any of the high school students working at Hyundai Motor America in Fountain Valley on Saturday, March 23, had trouble starting the car when it was time to go home.
If they did have difficulty cranking up the engine, it’s a good bet they knew how to fix the problem.
The 50 students, representing 12 Orange County high schools, were at the Hyundai corporate office for the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association’s 26th Annual Automotive Technology Competition, vying for a share of the $30,000 in college scholarships to be awarded.
The students demonstrated their skills in areas of automotive technology and theory including brake and engine mechanics, shop safety, electrical theory and harness repair.
